Unique Pageview vs Engaged Audience

What's the difference between a Unique Pageview and an Engaged Audience Member?

In short, a unique pageview is tied to sessions, whereas an engaged audience member is calculated using cookies.  In this way, unique pageviews are counted by how many unique sessions during which your content was viewed (at Live our sessions = 24hrs).  So, a unique pageview is generated for each session a single user views a page(s).  Engaged audience members, however, will only be counted once, regardless of how many views and how many sessions they spend with your content.

As engaged audience members are calculated using cookies, even in situations where a shared IP is being used, Live Analytics can still accurately track the number of individually engaged members.
